InDesign to Keynote, Word, PowerPoint using ID2Office v2.0
Today, we want to introduce how you can convert InDesign documents to editable Word, PowerPoint and Keynote files using ID2Office v2.0; the latest version of the InDesign to Office formats converter from Recosoft.
ID2Office is a plug-in for InDesign and operates with InDesign CS5 through CC (Creative Cloud) for both the Mac and Windows platforms. Once you install the plug-and run InDesign you see a Recosoft menu in InDesign with the “ID2Office – Export to Office format” command.
To convert an InDesign file to Word, PowerPoint or Keynote format you need to have and Open and saved InDesign file and use the “ID2Office – Export to Office format” command from the Recosoft menu.
Lets export the document we have opened to the Apple Keynote first. So we choose the ID2Office – Export to Office format command and the ID2Office – Options window appears with in InDesign.
The ID2Office Options window allows you to fine-tune the InDesign to Office formats; for now lets export the InDesign file to the Keynote format and observe the results.
We see that you can specify whether you want to export to the Word, PowerPoint or Keynote format. What we’re going to do is choose Apple Keynote.
We now see the “ID2Office Export window where we get to name the file. Lets just name it MyFile and click Save.
ID2Office analyzes the InDesign file and after a few seconds it creates a Keynote file as required.
Now that the InDesign file has been exported we can open up the file and compare it to the original InDesign file. We notice how the graphics, layout and text are all well preserved with everything editable in Keynote. Tables are Tables and text is text and graphics is graphics as expected. There is no need to recreate the document from scratch, which is amazing!
Lets now Export to the PowerPoint type and observe the results. We select PowerPoint as the type to convert to and click “Export”. Then we give the file a name and click save as required. ID2Office processes that document and it creates the PowerPoint file in very little time. Lets observe the quality of the conversion. You notice that the layout is very well maintained and the Text/Graphics are also readily editable.
Lets now Export to the Word format and observe the results. We select Word 2011-2013 as the type to export to as it’s the latest Word format. Then we click “Export” as usual. We name the file and click save. ID2Office processes that document and it creates the Word file in a few seconds. Lets observe the quality of the conversion. You notice that the layout is very well maintained and the Text/Graphics are also readily editable.
So, ID2Office v2.0 converts InDesign files to Word, PowerPoint and Keynote formats.
